Design Me A T-shirt!
If you would like for me to design and print you a T-shirt for your upcoming event then please read through the following information so that we can get started.
First consideration is TIME! Each project needs
at minimum 4 weeks to complete and to have the final product at your doorstep.
• 1 week to complete the design
• 2 weeks to complete the printing
• 1 week to guarantee you received the items via shipping.
The more reasonable timeframe would allow for event promoters to wear the T-shirt
around to help advertise for the event before ----making the Time 6-7 weeks
before your event date.
Second consideration is Pricing. As an organizer
T-shirts help promote your event but also help bring in some needed income.
T-shirt can be very profitable for this reason. But for T-shirt to be profitable
one must consider some general guidelines
• how many shirts are you likely to sell?
• how many ink colors do you need?
• do you want printing on both the front and back of the Tee?
• do you know the average sizes of your customers?
These questions are important in calculating your overall profits because if
you don't know the answer to one of these questions then it can effect profits
in a negative way. Ordering too much or too little, spending too much on the
printing, or ordering too much of the wrong size are all a factor.
Third consideration is the actual Design! You want your design to be BA--that means badass! You want it to stand out, look cool, fit nicely onto the customer's body, and also have an artistic appeal to the nature of the event. The best advice I have for helping your Tee look BA is to use the fashion industry as your prime example. Find something in a department store such as Urban Outfitters or an online store such as Threadless.com that appeals to the type of people that lindyhop today---young adventurous and open minded. GOOD brand to go with is American Apparel. It is a hot style with a nice fit to the body. Items labeled "store exclusive" are not available wholesale.
Once all this ideas are somewhat developed then you can contact
me with what you'd like to do. email me----> marciefm@gmail.com with a breakdown
of the following:
• date of your event.
• number of ink colors (more colors cost more)
• number of shirts, long sleeve, jackets or such (multiple shirt
styles may cost more).
• breakdown of sizes for men and women.
• Idea of what you want the design to look like ---hardest part!!!
I base my pricing off of a percentage of the total job.
10% for just designing your item. This consist of me just doing the
designing and sending you the final file so that you can take it to a local
printer and finish the project to your liking.
20% for Designing and print consultation with local printer. *option currently
unavailable to help with printing due to relocation. This consist of
me doing everything---meeting with the printers, getting a quote, finishing
the artwork, taking the artwork in, picking up the final product and shipping
it to you.
Please note: My charges are absolute and are not effected by
the final sales at your event---meaning if you don't sell as many shirts as
you expected then you still have to pay me.
Hope this breakdown better helps you understand the process of designing and
ordering t-shirts. Be in touch with me and Happy Organizing!!!
